Celfie uses facial recognition technology to analyze your emotions and provide personalized mental wellness support. This section explains how we handle your facial data:
What Facial Data We Collect
We collect facial images through your device's camera when you choose to take a selfie for emotion analysis. We analyze facial features and expressions to detect emotional states such as happiness, sadness, stress, or anxiety. We do not collect biometric identifiers, facial recognition data for identification purposes, or face mapping data that could be used to identify you.
How We Use Facial Data
Facial images are used solely for real-time emotion detection and analysis. Specifically, we use this data to:
- Analyze facial expressions to identify current emotional states
- Provide personalized motivational content based on detected emotions
- Track emotional patterns over time to support your mental wellness journey
- Offer tailored mindfulness exercises and wellness recommendations
Data Processing and Storage
Facial images are processed on our secure servers to ensure accurate emotion recognition. We do not share facial data with any third parties. All facial analysis is performed by our proprietary systems, and the processed emotional data is sent back to you through the app.
Facial Data Retention
Facial images are automatically deleted from our servers after 30 days. Emotional analysis results (without the original images) may be retained longer to track your wellness progress, but can be deleted upon request.
Your Control Over Facial Data
You have complete control over facial data collection:
- Camera access is only enabled with your explicit permission
- You can revoke camera permissions at any time through device settings
- You can request immediate deletion of all facial data
- The app functions without facial analysis if you choose not to use this feature
Important: We do not use facial data for identification purposes, advertising, or any purpose other than emotion analysis for your personal wellness journey. Your facial data is never shared with third parties.
