About CalEye
CalEye is built by a small team in Bengaluru with a single conviction: the daily friction of carb counting and calorie tracking is what's keeping metabolic-health interventions from working at population scale. Remove the log book, and the behavior becomes the entire interaction.
What we built
An AI that resolves a single photograph of a meal into carbs, calories, glycemic load, and the medical-source citation behind each number. Read the method.
Who's behind it
The founding team has spent the last decade in nutrition software, clinical endocrinology, and applied machine learning. We were the engineers and product leads behind apps that millions of people used to count calories — and we lived through the data showing that adherence rates collapse inside 14 days. CalEye is our second attempt at the same problem, with a different first principle: the camera, not the log book.
Advisors
Our advisory board includes board-certified endocrinologists, registered dietitians, and clinical researchers from teaching hospitals in India and the United States. They review the model's accuracy claims, signed off on the medical-source citation system, and help us decide where to invest the next 22 months.
Where we're going
- Continuous glucose monitor integration (Q3 2026)
- Per-meal A1C-impact estimation for type 2 patients (Q4 2026)
- Family-shared meal planning with diabetic-safe constraints (2027)
- Integration with electronic health records via FHIR (research phase)
